EXAM AND ASSESSMENT RESULTS
Our children measure their success in many ways not necessarily through taking formal examinations.
We aspire to help our pupils become independent, to know how to feel and how to stay safe within their emotions; know how to look after themselves and where they can access help; to have their own voice and communicate freely; to have the skills to take ownership of their learning through exploration and choice making. They are supported to be proud of who they are and are empowered to make choices.
Bishopswood School subscribes to the ASDAN scheme (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) and offers the Transition Challenge, a scheme specifically designed for students with severe learning difficulties, (the ASDAN Youth Award programme is also available for pupils who require more of a challenge.) Coursework is externally moderated for a certificate to be issued. Some students in years 9-11 attend the Countryside Stewardship Course at the Earth Trust.
