Thank you to all who took part and thank you for your resoundingly positive feedback.  We will not be complacent and will treat with utmost importance the concerns mentioned above. It is not too late if you did not take part. We always welcome your feedback good and bad.


Results of the Bishopswood Parents Survey Taken in June 2014

Questionnaires were issued and there were 15 responses - Ideally we would like more people to respond, but the results of those that chose to respond to the survey are overwhelmingly positive with:

100% of families responding either “Strongly Agree” or “Agree” that:

    ‘My child feels safe at school’

    ‘My child is happy at school’

    ‘I get valuable information about my child’s progresses’

    ‘The school ensures my child is well looked after’

    ‘The school makes sure the pupils are well behaved’

    ‘The school responds well to my concerns’


96% of families “Strongly Agree” or “Agree” that they would ‘Recommend the school’

96% of families “Strongly Agree” or “Agree” that: ‘The school is well led and managed’

93% of respondents “Strongly Agree” or “Agree” with the statement:

    ‘My child is making good progress’

    ‘My child is taught well’

    ‘This school helps my child to develop skills in communication, reading, writing and mathematics’

87% of respondents “Strongly Agree” or “Agree” that (13% were unsure)

    ‘The School provides/helps access to appropriate extracurricular activity e.g. sport, music’

80% of respondents indicated “Strongly Agree” or “Agree” to the statement:

‘The School provides sufficient access to health professionals e.g. OT, Physio etc’

67% of respondents “Strongly Agree” or “Agree” that in relation to Bullying:

‘This school deals with any cases of bullying effectively’ 

26% were not sure with one ‘no response‘ 

About Governors:

40% of respondents “Strongly Agreed” or “Agreed” with the statement

    ‘I feel I know several members of the Governing Body’

27% “Disagreed” or “Strongly Disagree” with this statement and

23% were unsure.

40% of respondents indicated “Strongly Agree” or “Agree” that:

    ‘I would like to meet / see the Governors more often’

20% agree with this or were not sure.

Your Concerns:

Some specific concerns and suggestions were raised relating to:

The amount and quality of equipment in certain parts of the school

  • Access to and feedback from visiting therapists e.g. physiotherapist

  • A desire to meet with staff more often or to come into school to observe

    and learn from staff

  • Finding ways to make governors more accessible to those parents who wish for it
